It feels like a story about growth, courage, and rediscovering wonder—even in difficult moments!
The Lost Lake Dig immediately drew me in with its emotional starting point and then surprised me with how imaginative and expansive the story feels. I really connected with Joey’s loneliness at the beginning—it made everything that followed feel more meaningful, especially as the story opens up into something much bigger than just one boy’s struggle.
What stood out most to me is how creative the concept is—the idea of a world where ideas themselves have an origin feels fresh and thought-provoking. It made me think beyond the adventure and reflect on how imagination and intellect shape everything around us. That deeper layer gives the story a kind of quiet weight that stays with you.
I also loved the mix of characters. From Joey and Ben’s friendship to the intriguing presence of the mysterious man and the girl seer, there’s a sense that everyone carries a piece of the puzzle. The addition of dwarfs, trolls, and giants adds that classic fantasy excitement, but it’s the relationships and emotional stakes that really make it engaging.
There’s a strong theme of hope running through it all, especially in how Joey is pushed to see the world differently. It feels like a story about growth, courage, and rediscovering wonder—even in difficult moments.
